Today, almost everybody has what we call “Social media”. Instagram, TikTok, you name It. Everybody has their own opinions about Social Media. Some think it’s helpful, others think the opposite. Today I’m going to uncover the harmful and helpful ways Social Media can affect our life.
Social Media as being Helpful
Social media can be really helpful with Promoting stuff like clothes, bags and other Items. And it also helps in making relationships with each other.
Social Media being harmful
Social Media can also be really harmful. Instead of making relationships it can break relationships. Social media has a lot of Cyberbullies. Especially with the comments around. Some people just wanna annoy others instead of giving them feedback. That can make it really annoying. Another harmful thing about Social media is that there are A LOT of short videos. that can make people less patient. And more people are becoming so addicted to it. Even children! Spending time on Social media makes people feel that they’re not enough, because people only post about the good things in their life. Not the bad things. So most people get very jealous about it. Especially children. And Australia has already banned Social media for all children until they become 16!
Being responsible with Social media
Of course those harmful things will only happen if you’re not responsible. But yet being responsible is tricky when it comes to Social media. Here are some ways you could do it:
- DON’T DO MINDLESS SCROLLING! Scrolling on Social media creates Dopamine. A feel good chemical in your brain. Though this makes you feel good, creating Dopamine with Social media can add to the addictive feeling.
- If you really need to go on Social media, set a timer. Setting a timer will prevent any addictions.
- When someone makes a mean comment, don’t even care! It’ll only hurt you if you choose to be offended.
- When watching a long video of movie, try not to forward the video too much. When you practice this, you also practice patient.
- Don’t watch too much short videos. This will also help you be more patient.
