Introduction
In my country, we usually use Filipino Dialects in our day to day lives. The Filipino language I speak is Tagalog (yes, there are actually many filipino languages). It was invented by Manuel L Quezon, in 1935.
Baybayin
Did you know the Philippines had an ancient written language?
It’s called Baybayin. It’s used with symbols to represent vowels mixed with consanants like Ka, ra, sa, ba, ru, and more.
Are there other Filipino dialects?
Yes, there are others like Bisayas, Cebuano, and more. But why?
Some of the reasons why
- The Philippines is an archipelago. And it has over 7,000 islands. Many communities living there got isolated from mountains, water, forests, etc.
- They got influenced by other countries through trade and colonization
Speaking in Filipino
I like to speak in Filipino because speaking in Filipino tells everyone I’m proud of my country. That I’m proud of all the Filipinos that died for us and for a better world.
