“Ahh! Where are we?” Those were the first words I said to my friend Clea. We got sucked into a bright tunnel surrounded by liquid.
It was a bizarre place – tall structures built with transparent stone were around area. Wealthy people seems to be everywhere. There were a lot of wagons moving by itself, without any help from a person or animal.
“Oh, look at that!” Clea exclaimed after she looked through one of the clear stones. “They have stairs that can move!” And yet people are acting as if nothing extraordinary was happening! I thought.
Suddenly a warm, funny voice came from behind us.
“Why are you staring at an escalator like it’s made of gold?”
We turned around. Behind us was a seemingly wealthy man in a strange black suit. He had unusual tails behind him. He noticed me staring.
“Never seen a tuxedo before? You’re weird.” He laughed.
“Oh, what’s that?” Clea inquired. She was looking at a rectangular item with a glossy surface. It had an image of a half-chewed apple at the back.
“You don’t know what a phone is either? My, you’re very interesting people.”
Then out of the peculiar object came some kind of noise. I was pretty sure that something was inside it. “Ahh!” I yelled.
“Oh! Excuse me for a minute,” the man exclaimed. “Oh hello. A conference? Okay, I’m in.”
Then he started mumbling. I couldn’t hear much but I managed to catch “… and a weird guy in a toga, hahaha!” He said “Huh? Give the thing to them? Okay.”
“Here, this is for you,” he said. “It’ll help you find your home.”
He gave something that looked like a tablet. On the middle was a big red… “that’s a button. Press it.” I pressed the button.
A tunnel suddenly appeared. It sucked us in while the man in the “tuxedo” walked away.
When we opened our eyes, we were back in Rome. What an adventure!
