Part 6
The next day, Steve had barely slept. He awoke on Reece’s back and they swam to the shore where everyone else was.
Reece explained the plan again for the other people to understand.
“Are you ready?” Steve shouted
“Yeah!” Said the crowd.
The spies snuck into the ship and put crushed Mindbenders in the wine. Then they went on and listened to what’s going on in the ship.
“Let’s attack again at noon. We’ll get tons of this time!” They heard one of them say. Evil bursts of laughter.
The spies went back and reported to Steve what happened.
“Okay,” he thought carefully. “Let’s continue 10 minutes before noon.”
When that time came, Steve gave the signal for the soldiers to fire the cannons. They aimed right where the weapons are, and they collected them and gave them to Steve.
Meanwhile, the pirates were in the middle of discussing their plan and drinking wine, they began feeling a little weird. They felt like the world was spinning. They panicked and screamed.
Later, they stopped. Not because they discovered why, but because they forgot what they were so afraid of in the first place. They wondered who they even were.
Suddenly, a second cannonball landed and the world started spinning again. They started screaming again. They felt clueless, as if they were missing out on everything else.
Because of the commotion, they didn’t notice one of the fishermen tying the end of a rope to the ship.
